  • not required but for the compleat interested student; topics in these books are discussed and referenced elsewhere in this web site.
    • Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software, Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides, Addison-Wesley, 1995.
    • Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code, Martin Fowler, Kent Beck (Contributor), John Brant (Contributor), William Opdyke, Don Roberts, Addison-Wesley

Course Work

There will be assignments covering at least the following material
